The most popular form of eBooks is books that are printed in the portable document format or pdf file format which can be used on any computer regardless of the operating system. They did not buy it to read it on the screen. The reason for buying eBooks is primary because the delivery of information is faster. I've seen people often pay more for an eBook than for a printed book just because they get it faster.
