Dimlog is a software tool to log how much time you spend on a project, a type of activity, or other user-defined categories. Categories are organized in trees. For example, all projects and subprojects are organized in a project tree, and people can be organized in groups and departments. You can decide which category trees you want. For example, it is possible to add an extra category tree to record the hourly rate for the time you spend. To enter time into the system, the user selects one element of each category tree, and clicks the Start/Stop button. Alternatively, the start and stop time can be entered manually. You can view and edit previously entered sessions. Dimlog also features a task list to record on which project, and by which person or group, work has to be done. The tasks can be given a priority number, and this number is used to sort the tasks. When a user double-clicks on a task, the corresponding categories are selected. When all activity is recorded in Dimlog, it provides various information and statistics. The main screen of Dimlog shows how much time has been spent on each project, and on each type of activity. This information can be filtered on a time period, or a project. When you filter on a project, you will only see the time spent on that particular project, by each person. The time spent per week on a category, and its subcategories, can be viewed in a time-based graph and exported to a CSV file (for import in a spreadsheet). Session lists with start and stop times can also be exported to CSV. The datafile as a whole can be exported to XML. The project tree with the time spent for each project can be exported to HTML (web page). Optionally, you can place the Dimlog file in a shared network folder so that more than one user can access the data. Dimlog will then periodically combine the information entered by the users. If time is recorded using the stopwatch of Dimlog, then it will show how many people are working on a task.
